It hasn’t been a good week

And I didn’t know why. I didn’t realize when it started but I do know that I just felt exhausted.

Usually I would fill the weekends with some activities especially learning something, working on the goals. However, I didn’t open a single video or book. I couldn’t even recite a single page of the Quran. I even fell asleep in tafseer class.

I started that Monday even tired mentally- I got upset that I didn’t have a productive weekend. What a way to start a new week, it pretty much ruined the week.

From this week's experience, I learnt that I need to constantly remind myself:

1) Doesn’t matter how tired I feel mentally, I must push myself to do things that I enjoy. Call/see people that I care about, go online shopping, eat good food.

2) If I am not sure of why I am feeling low, I should spend time to practicing mindfulness. Go out to a quiet place, spend some time to listen to the thoughts. Chances are after sometime, I’ll know what actually has been bothering me.

3) I was spiritually thirsty. I realized that I haven’t been doing the regular stuffs I always do like listen attentively to an Islamic talk. I guess the emaan was low, and I know it’s something that I need to do regularly to fill my spiritual thirst. I listened to the story of Abu Jandal and I immediately could feel the difference.

Hoping for a better week next week :)

Love,
