Strength of Mother of Musa a.s
In this morning recitation I recited Surah Al-Qasas Ayah 10, and recalled some ibrah that I learned from the ayah.
It’s one of my favourite ayah so I’ll share some from it kay. Bismillah.
And the heart of Moses’ mother ached so much that she almost gave away his identity, had We not reassured her heart in order for her to have faith ˹in Allah’s promise˺.
— Dr. Mustafa Khattab, the Clear Quran [28:10]
When Mother of Musa A.S had to release her newborn child to the Nile, her heart ached and she experienced immense grief and pain.
Imagine after just giving birth to her son, and she had to release him to the unknown.
She knew and was well aware of why she had to do it. It was for his safety, and for his well being.
It was for the best and the right thing to do.
She knew.
Yet because of that immense pain, she almost screamed and almost told people that she had lost her son. That would have disclosed their situation and endangered her family and Musa A.S.
Alhamdulillah, it didn’t happen.
In fact, Musa A.S safely reached the house of Firaun not long after. On top of that, Allah even reunited her with Musa A.S. and was able to breastfeed him throughout infancy.
So sometimes in life, we know what’s the right thing to do. But we struggle to do it because we cannot find the strength to do so. It is just too painful.
How are we supposed to swallow this pain, right?
However, know that Allah is the source of power. Allah gave Mother of Musa A.S the strength she needed to power through that impossible situation.
She eventually was able to content her heart, and did the right thing.
لَا حَوْلَ وَلَا قُوَّةَ إِلَّا بِٱللَّٰهِ
"There is no power nor strength except by God."
He is the source of strength. Just a little of His strength is better than all the strength we EVER need. So, we have to constantly ask Allah for some of His strength.
Allah does not charge a soul except [with that within] its capacity.
[2:286]
Have faith that whatever hardship and tests that He is giving us right now, we have the ability to overcome it and handle it in His way.
If that thing is the best for us and we are doing for Him, He WILL grant us that strength.
Just ask Him everyday! :)
